South32 open mine

Overview

For the past three years, Fusion has partnered with South32, a global mining and metal company, to design and deliver a customised development experience over multiple days. There is a significant need to create an asupportive environment where graduates felt comfortable to come together, share their knowledge and learn the required skills to be successful in their roles on site.

Our Objective

South32 outlined several elements that were critical to the success of the development program:

  • A customised three-day program that allows graduates the opportunity to develop a deeper connection.
  • Build business acumen through knowledge sharing and having access to business leaders.
  • Develop the skills that are critical to both their success on the program and to their future career.

Our Solution

Through numerous design sessions, we were able to fully understand the needs of South32 and the purpose of the development program. It was then designed to be delivered as a hybrid three day residential in both Australia and South Africa that involved multiple cohorts.Graduates were required to complete pre-work in the form of case studies to ensure that they arrived with the correct mindset. There was also significant customisation on the various topics that were covered during the residential to link the learning outcomes together.

Multiple guest speakers were also involved in the workshop to help provide context to the delivered topics and build the graduates business acumen.
